Sabin Jacques has a brilliant reputation in the world of traditional music. Originally from Gaspésie, he is recognized both in Quebec and on the international stage. Living in Montreal from 1992 to 2009, he had significant encounters with popular artists such as Édith Butler, Hugues Aufray, Jean-Pierre Ferland, and Grégory Charles. Since settling in Chaudière-Appalaches in 2009, he co-founded the Camp de Souches à Oreilles, a vibrant hub for the transmission of living heritage. As a trainer, Sabin has enabled hundreds of musicians, amateurs, and professionals alike, to initiate or deepen their knowledge of Quebec’s traditional music. Recently decorated with several awards related to his latest album titled “Grandes Rencontres,” Sabin Jacques has a sensitive and virtuosic playing style, undoubtedly making him one of the leaders in Quebecois traditional music.
