Gaston Nolet
Description
Born in Trois-Rivières, Gaston Nolet is a passionate diatonic accordionist whose love for music has remained constant throughout his life.
For over thirty years, he performed at social and traditional dance events, bringing people to the dance floor. He has also accompanied several dance troupes at festivals in Europe and the United States, in addition to giving concerts in Quebec and abroad. Committed to sharing his passion, he regularly leads workshops for audiences of all ages.
His influences include Roland Turcotte and Gilles Paré (both from Trois-Rivières), Philippe Bruneau, Denis Pépin, Michel Béchard, as well as many other accordionists who have inspired him.
His repertoire is diverse, ranging from traditional and musette to popular music, with touches of jazz. In 2016, he was awarded the Aldor Trophy by Espace Trad, a prestigious honor.
With more than sixty years of musical activity, seven albums, and a DVD to his name, his passion remains as strong as ever. His latest album, released in June 2025 and also available digitally, features several original compositions.
Long live music—and above all, long live the accordion.
