Keven DesRosiers

Keven DesRosiers
Description
Born into a family of musicians, Keven Desrosiers developed a deep passion for traditional music, with a particular love for the accordion. He studied under Pierre-Paul Michaud, Réjean Simard, and Gaston Nolet, honing his craft and recording several albums—including one dedicated to his greatest inspiration, violinist Thérèse Rioux. Over time, Keven formed a close bond with this iconic figure of traditional music, considering her his “musical grandmother.”
For over 20 years, he has been a regular performer at the Carrefour Mondial de l’Accordéon in Montmagny. His expertise has also led him to teach Québécois traditional music in Port Townsend, Washington, and at the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes alongside violinist Lisa Ornstein in 2016.
More recently, Keven has become a collaborator with the Souches à Oreilles music camp. As of January 2024, he is also an active board member of the Association Québécoise des Loisirs Folkloriques for the Québec region.
