Denis Pépin

Description

Born in Saint-Basile de Portneuf, Denis Pépin discovered the accordion at 15. Early on, he played alongside legends of Québécois and Irish traditional music, such as Philippe Bruneau, Jean Carignan, Joe Deranne, and Jules Verret, immersing himself in their rich repertoires. For over 40 years, he has been dedicated to teaching the accordion, passing on both technique and tradition. His contributions have earned him numerous accolades: in 2024, he was named a Maître des traditions vivantes in diatonic accordion by the Conseil Québécois du Patrimoine Vivant and recognized as an Arirang Master by Culture Master in South Korea.
