Originally from Nova Scotia, Ariana is a singer, accordionist, and multi-instrumentalist with a passion for French chanson and world music. A true stage powerhouse, she captivates audiences with her dynamic and engaging performances, accompanying herself on the button chromatic accordion. In 2015, she created a show dedicated to the iconic French singer Édith Piaf, one of her greatest inspirations. Since 2016, she’s been collaborating with guitarist Curtis Thorpe on a musical project where she sings and plays saxophone, violin, and accordion. She also leads a family project, performing songs written by her father, an Afghan Sufi poet, alongside her sisters Sahara and Kamila Nasr and her brother-in-law Ken Shorley.
