Jean-Claude Laudat and Jean-Yves Dubanton

Description

Since their meeting in 1994, accordionist Jean-Claude Laudat and guitarist, singer, and actor Jean-Yves Dubanton have shared a musical partnership deeply rooted in the traditions of swing-musette and Gypsy jazz. Inspired by legendary musette accordionists such as Gus Viseur, Tony Murena, and Jo Privat, Jean-Claude Laudat quickly developed a refined style combining virtuosity with a strong sense of accompaniment. Meanwhile, Jean-Yves Dubanton became an active figure on the Parisian Gypsy jazz scene during the 1990s.

Their musical paths have crossed many times over the years: after first performing as a duo, they reunited within the group Alma Sinti alongside Patrick Saussois, touring notably in Japan and collaborating on projects connected to theatre, film, and French chanson. They later continued this shared journey with the creation of the quartet Paname Swing, performing on stages across France and internationally. Blending Parisian swing, musette waltzes, and Gypsy influences, their music revives the warm and festive spirit of the dance halls and cabarets of another era with elegance and authenticity.
