Garçons à marier

Description

Garçons à marier is a festive traditional music power trio from Lanaudière, a region considered one of the strongholds of Quebec traditional music. Formed in 2023, the group brings together three seasoned musicians — Philippe Jetté (vocals, accordion, foot percussion, jaw harp), Gabriel Girouard (violin, vocals), and Jean Desrochers (guitar, banjo, vocals) — whose diverse musical backgrounds converge around a shared passion: bringing traditional music and song to new audiences.

Rooted in the authentic traditions of Lanaudière, Quebec, and Acadia, Garçons à marier delivers modern, energetic, and hard-hitting arrangements. The trio quickly caught the attention of presenters and has performed at several major events, including the Congrès mondial acadien in Nova Scotia.
In December 2024, Garçons à marier released their first album, La dot, a vibrant tribute to the musical repertoire of their home region, Lanaudière, and to the living traditions that continue to inspire it.
