Bernard Lafargue

Bernard Lafargue
Description
Originally from Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Bernard Lafargue discovered the chromatic accordion at age 12. In 1978, he attended a concert by the renowned Christian Di-Maccio, who encouraged him by gifting him his first accordion method, Médard Ferrero. This led to him winning First Prize at the regional qualifiers of the Coupe de France in Paris in 1982. Musically active on his native island until 1994, he then settled in Québec, drawn by its warm welcome. He soon became a staple in the region’s top hotels and restaurants. In 2001, he performed for five months at Ikspiari in Japan before expanding his horizons, joining groups like Versant Musette and Les Coquettes, as well as forming various duos and trios for festivals, libraries, corporate events, and private gatherings. Since 2017, Bernard Lafargue has also run his own accordion repair workshop.
