Originally from Gaspésie, Sabin Jacques is a key figure in Quebec traditional music, known for his sensitive and virtuosic playing. He has collaborated with several major artists and co-founded in 2009 the Camp de Souches à Oreilles, an important centre for living heritage transmission in Chaudière-Appalaches. A passionate teacher, he has trained many musicians and is widely regarded as a major ambassador of the tradition.
Pianist, educator, and artistic director, Rachel Aucoin is a leading figure in the folk music community. In 2011, she founded Maréemusique, an organization dedicated to the transmission of danced, played, and sung traditions, notably through the Camp de Souches à Oreilles. She is also active as a mentor for emerging artists.
For over twenty-five years, Sabin Jacques and Rachel Aucoin have shared a unique musical partnership. Their music, bridging tradition and modernity, has earned several prestigious awards, including the Canadian Folk Music Award and the Aldor Trophy.
