Marie-Jeanne Brousseau and Guillaume Turcotte

Description

The duo formed by Marie-Jeanne Brousseau (diatonic accordion) and Guillaume Turcotte (piano) grew out of a long-standing musical connection, notably developed through traditional music jams at L’Escalier in Montréal, before coming together in this current duo project.

Well known and appreciated by audiences of the Carrefour mondial de l’accordéon, Marie-Jeanne Brousseau has been active in the traditional music scene since her teenage years, refining her style under the guidance of Yves Hélie. She is also a member of the trio Triptik, with which she reimagines traditional repertoire through original arrangements.

A versatile pianist, Guillaume Turcotte has collaborated extensively on stage and in the studio with a wide range of artists and groups, including Barbo, Lisa LeBlanc, Francis Faubert, and Cirque Alfonse, performing in over 600 concerts across Québec and internationally.

Together, they offer a compelling dialogue between piano and accordion, exploring traditional repertoires from near and far with sensitivity, creativity, and a strong sense of musical connection.
