Description

Louis Charbonneau studied jazz piano with Lorraine Desmarais at Cégep de St-Laurent and holds a Grade 9 in classical piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto. He learned diatonic accordion as a self-taught musician, inspired by his family’s musical heritage, and has taken advanced courses with renowned Quebecois accordionists. Currently, he is honing his skills on the re/do# accordion with Philippe Jetté as part of a mentoring program offered by CQPV. He has been active in groups like Ziguezon and Rhizome, and currently performs with the Charbonneau-Sauvé duo. His compositions, blending tradition and modernity, have been featured in performances and are on Rhizome’s album, which was nominated for music awards. Teaching for 24 years, he shares his knowledge in piano and accordion.

Marc-Antoine Sauvé, passionate about music, collaborates on various musical projects spanning genres like progressive rock with Vecteur K, country/folk/bluegrass with Pied de biche, and poetic performances with musical accompaniment by Yves Gagnon. He is a music teacher and holds a musical education background in jazz guitar from the Cégep régional de Lanaudière in Joliette and the University of Montreal. Influenced by his love for cultural diversity and various musical expressions from traditional music encountered during his travels, he mainly plays guitar, mandolin, and percussion as a multi-instrumentalist.
