Loïc & Jeremy
Loïc & Jeremy
Description
Loïc and Jeremy first met at the 2024 Accordion Festival, where they immediately had a blast playing together. Discovering they lived only about two and a half hours apart—Jeremy in Brockville, Ontario, and Loïc in Montreal—the two musicians decided to record a demo video to try their luck at being invited to future editions of the festival as a duo.
Passionate about musical exploration, they love to blend styles, create original solos, and develop rich and refined accompaniments, giving their performances a unique character. With Loïc’s penchant for personalization and Jeremy’s unique, almost otherworldly approach, not to mention his great versatility, expect to rediscover accordion classics like you’ve never heard them before.
Jeremy Rusu, born blind and raised in Winnipeg, is a musical force of nature with perfect pitch and jaw-dropping versatility. A true multi-instrumentalist, he plays accordion, piano, guitar, bass, bagpipes, drums, and more, often switching between several in a single performance. He studied jazz in college, has played with Canadian fiddle legends, records albums for fiddlers across the country, and regularly accompanies competitors at the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Competition. Though deeply rooted in the Canadian fiddle scene, his talents span jazz, rock, country, reggae, and classical traditions. He’s also a composer, piano tuner, and avid instrument collector.
