Description

Erick Tarte discovered folk dancing at the age of 9 while watching a performance by Les Chamaniers de St-Hyacinthe in a park with his classmates. Since then, he has become a versatile dancer, stepping into roles as a gigue dancer, caller, bone player, and choreographer. For 15 years, Erick danced with Mackinaw, the host group of the Mondial des Cultures de Drummondville, performing nearly 1000 shows and events worldwide, including in Germany, Spain, the United States, France, Hungary, Switzerland, Yugoslavia, and across Canada. In 1999, he was honored with a lifetime membership to Mackinaw.

Erick is deeply involved in traditional dance, regularly participating in camps and workshops organized by SPDTQ, including teaching Drummondville regional dances and gigue. He also played key roles within AQLF, serving on committees, choreographing dances, and acting as President of the Réseau from 2011 to 2014.
