Winner of the Révélation Jazz Radio-Canada 2020-2021 title, Carl Mayotte is one of the hottest young bassists and jazz musicians in Quebec and Canada right now. Starting his professional career at the age of 16 and completing a master’s degree in jazz performance at McGill University, his virtuosity and versatility have been noticed by several musicians and critics, from Alain Caron to Bass Magazine. His third album, “Escale,” earned him a Félix Award for Jazz Album of the Year in 2022.
