Mario Boucher
Description
Born in December 1954 in Montmagny, Mario Boucher began teaching himself the accordion by ear at the age of 15. By 20, he was performing with dance orchestras, traveling between traditional and Western music. Over his 30-year career, he entertained his fellow citizens at numerous public and private events, including weddings, carnivals, and popular festivals. His love affair with the Carrefour Mondial de l’accordéon dates back to its inception, being among the first musicians to perform in the “Relève” category.
In addition to his musical career, Mario Boucher has been a recognized craftsman of musical spoons since 1983. He designs and develops his own models using various types of Quebecois and exotic woods to explore different sounds.
