Claudine Arcand

Description

With over 25 years of experience in the field of traditional music, Claudine Arcand has built an extensive career teaching fiddle in Quebec, as well as at renowned camps in the United States, conservatories in France, and universities such as the University of Limerick (Ireland) and Newcastle (England), where she has given lectures and workshops on teaching “learning fiddle by ear.”

Now based in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, she leads MusiQue d’ICI, a program offering music, singing, and dance activities for preschool and elementary-aged children.

Deeply convinced of the importance of making MusiQue d’ICI more widely known to the public, she has dedicated herself to the development of the “Folklore d’ICI” program. This rich collection of activities revolves around singing, dancing, and music, promoting French language learning while valuing cultural heritage. Folklore d’ICI is currently taught in early childhood and elementary education settings in both Quebec and Saskatchewan, and is also used in teacher training and early childhood intervention programs.
