Individual lessons

The instrumental formation suggests a teacher adapted to the student, to his needs and musical taste to let him progress to his own rhythm. The classes are open to every age group (kids, teenagers, and adults). The individual lessons welcome kids from 6 years old to make sure of an appropriate learning context. Lessons can be of 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or an hour long.

 

Accordion

Piano, chromatic and diatonic lessons.

Learn various instrumental skills specific to the accordion, such as the control of the bellow, the posture, and the harmonization.

Electric Bass

A fundamental element of the rhythm section, the electric bass lessons include the instrumental technique, reading with the F key, as well as the role of the bassist in different music styles.

Drum

The learning of different rhythms and music styles is important to develop groove and a sense of rhythm, which are essential qualities of a drummer. The lesson includes (with or without tracks), drum score reading, and the comprehension of the structure of a music piece.

Clarinet

With this lesson, you will develop multiple skills specific to wind instruments and your chosen instrument (clarinet, flute, saxophone). Postures notions, fingering techniques, assembling, reeds use, breathing, and articulation are a few of the themes that will be tackled.

Flute

With this lesson, you will develop multiple skills specific to wind instruments and your chosen instrument (clarinet, flute, saxophone). Postures notions, fingering techniques, assembling, reeds use, breathing, and articulation are a few of the themes that will be tackled.

Acoustic and electric guitar

The lesson is offered with a great variety of abilities such as accompaniment, playing solos, learning to perform alone or in a group, and getting to know many musical styles, such as classical, pop, traditional, folk, rock, blues, and jazz music. The approach is based on the student’s interests and motivations.

Piano (classical and pop/jazz)

Body and hands posture, the keys, the use of the pedal, reading notes in G and F key, exercises, improvisation, preparation of piece, theory, rhythm and chord progression as well as different accompaniment types can be tackled. Different music styles are offered (classical, pop, jazz) in our school.

Saxophone

With this lesson, you will develop multiple skills specific to wind instruments and your chosen instrument (clarinet, flute, saxophone). Postures notions, fingering techniques, assembling, reeds use, breathing, and articulation are a few of the themes that will be tackled.

Violin

Joining a violin lesson will give the student tools to acquire a good technique, as well as an introduction to the classic repertoire of this instrument, and knowledge of the major traditional music styles (gigue, reel, etc.)

Group classes

  • Music introduction (Class parents/kids 3 to 6 years old) (Saturday 11h-11h30)

This class is an initiation into music through games. Your child will learn to identify the nature of music, the beat, the term of musical sentence, sounds that go up or down, intensities, and rhythm values. With percussion instruments, hands, or dance, kids and their parents will learn to accompany songs, to keep a beat, to repeat, to sing, to improvise rhythms, and to recognize different instruments tones. This class is a self-discovery into music and prepares for the practice of an instrument.

  • Stage band

In small groups of 6 students and more, you will discover many musical styles, such as pop, jazz, RnB. Students that are not currently following individual lessons are welcome!

  • Musical theory (available on demand)

According to the students’ needs, this class is all about the acquisition of knowledge linked to the musical language like the control of the voice or of an instrument, but also an introduction to the major musical movements. Theory exercises, musical notation, musical dictations, historical reminders, archives documents viewing, all will help the student to develop his comprehension of musical structures, voice accuracy, auditory skills, and furthermore.
